My 52mm UV filter has arrived!

It's finally here!! Right after my mom sent me my portrait lens, I didn't really use it much as I want to keep dust away from entering the lens. I then went to eBay to get myself a 52mm UV filter for that particular lens and been waiting since then..

Now, it's finally here, and what I need to do is to get a long holiday, which is coming in 2 weeks time, and start taking photographs with both lenses! I can't wait for it! Seriously! I am wishing for the long holiday and all those happy moments I can find!

Take care peeps!

I've been attacked...

...by insects!

LOL. And because of that, my friend said that I attract insects. Look at the photograph below.

I don't know if I've been attacked by the mosquitoes or the bed bug. But what I can say it, whichever insect that has bitten me, it was quite a poisonous one. It caused itchiness and irritation to me, throughout the whole week!

Anyway, take care peeps!

World’s Coolest Intern

The title says it all, Standard Chartered Bank is currently looking for the ‘World’s Coolest Intern’ to join their Breeze mobile banking team in Singapore. I'm not sure if I can get it but I'm taking my chances. Here goes!

I can probably start by briefly introducing my situation. I'm a Malaysian student currently studying in Adelaide, Australia. I'm currently persuing a Degree of Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Media Management) - a 3 years degree, which offered by the University of South Australia.

Knowing that I'm graduating in the next 2 months, I'm trying to search for jobs opportunity or internships and I happened to come across Nuffnang's "Be the World’s Coolest Intern with Standard Chartered Bank" post entry. Since I'm searching for a job, I thought, "why not just give it a try even though I might not stand the chance to get it? No harm trying" and hence this post entry.

My laptop will always be switched on every morning and the first few tabs can be seen on my browser will be 'Facebook', 'Twitter', 'Gmail', 'Yahoo! mail', Uni's email (Microsoft Outlook) and my blog. So I guess I've actually did meet some of the criteria listed, didn't I?

I will be happy enough if I get the job as it's just a 6 months internship in Singapore. Reason?
  • Well, as I'm still considering of further pursuing my Master course but I don't want to do it right after graduating from my Degree. I would like to have some working experiences before continuing my Master program.
  • Secondly, I never been to Singapore, and I believed that I can make a good use of this opportunity.
  • Thirdly, I've been staying in Australia, meaning I can take good care of myself and am independent enough for most of the thing. I believe I can adapt to the environment and culture easily too.

If 'being hardworking', 'ask lots of questions when facing problems' and 'trying to fulfill every instruction given' are considered 'Cool', then I guess it means that I'm cool! Hence, I can also be one of the 'World's Coolest Intern'! You just need to give me the opportunity for me to prove myself.

I've had work for Taylor's University College as Student Helper and Student Ambassador while studying there in 2007-2009 and had volunteered myself in some events organized by big organization in Australia (2010) if this adds some good points to myself.

Anyway, I'm done taking about myself. Thank you.

Take care people! And wish me luck!

KIDNAP

Nope, no one has been kidnapped but what I want to do here is to share about my Drama Production assignment 1 - a 3 minute narrative piece which I've named it 'Kidnap'.

I know I've had already share it with you guys in the entry Another Short Update! but that was quite a brief entry about this assignment. This time, I'm gonna include a poster I made for this assignment and also the bloopers during the production.

Alright, so basically this 3-minute-narrative-piece is about a university student who had been kidnapped, tried to escape from the so-called abandon house but came across with quite a number of obstacles (not a lot though). The ending of the production is not shown and it's all up to you guys to think - if he managed to escape or not.

This is an individual assignment but we were placed into a group of 3 - to assist each other's production. As we had forgotten to check our setting, it was all recorded in full HD, so meaning we have a higher quality of image and also mean we need more time to render our videos during the editing.

I know my production isn't that great as compared to those who are really good at it, but I'm happy for my assignment - for now, as I know I've tried my best to do everything I could. However, I hope I can be better in the future, at least I know some of my classmates can do a very good job, and some are just like mine.

Do give comments on the shots and production but not the actors' acting skills. They are not professional actors and I know, acting skills do affect the whole production sometimes. However, I appreciate their help and I don't wanna comment about it.

So here is a video of the bloopers. Mistakes has been done and some are quite funny so I thought it would be nice to share it around with all of you!

Enjoy watching and have a great day peeps!

Pre-grad Party

Tonight's pre-grad party occurs kinda randomly. Not exactly a party but just seems like one, as though we've all finished all our assignments and waiting for graduation. Meh, I wish!

But, after class, we sort of hang out and chat about the most random stuffs ever and some of them were hungry and decided to order pizza from the local pizzeria. So, all the 6 of us, consists of 1 male and 5 females, ordered 2 family-size party-size pizza and a box of curly fries.

I'm still quite full from the late lunch I had earlier so I did not eat much. The remaining 5 girls were eating like there's no tomorrow. Freaky to see the way they eat also (I'll be killed if one of them sees this).

So yea, great time hanging out with them. And as usual, me and all girls group. Wonder why I always surrounded by girls? XD

Anyways, we should do this more often, at least when everyone is still in Adelaide, otherwise, I don't think we're gonna do that anymore after going back to Malaysia. Right? Future is hard to be predicted, no?

That's all for now, take care peeps! Good night!

I'm not smart but I ain't stupid!

"Sir, seriously, if you think I'm gonna show you my assignment and only plan to redo it today, on the very final day, you might as well fail me. Do you really think I will not do my assignment even if you don't bother replying my mail? Think again cause you're wrong! I even purposely went to print out a hard copy, thinking that you might want to have it instead of reading the soft copy, and you actually think that I will be like you other students who are still doing their work? You said due date is today and we have a lecturer class at 9am, even if I've not done my work earlier I'll make sure I finish my assignment by 9! Not later! Geez! Thanks a lot Sir!"

Received such a huge insult this morning indirectly. This shows that my lecturer actually received my assignment but refused to reply me. I don't know (and I don't bother now) whether if he is stereotyping or being a racist, what I know is both the lecturers of the same course, they are weird. I used to like them though, I love their class cause I never get to learn something so different in Malaysia. But the way they treated me, made me feel so disappointed!

Since this assignment is done, all I have left is a Drama Production, two assignments from Comm & Org and one more theater production installation to do then I'm free! Coming right up, Drama Production, shooting this Friday and Saturday and need to do some editing. And I better start on my Comm & Org too, as I have another lecturer who doesn't reply e-mails right away.

Don't understand why don't they use all these services when it's provided nicely for them?

Another thing I don't understand is why are there so many millipedes around the house, especially during winter and now - spring. It will crawl all around the house, the living room, kitchen, the toilet and even the room!

Aren't they adorable (yucks!) disgusting?

Luckily they are not as large as the one I saw in Google, otherwise this place would be like a living hell! Gosh! I'm being exaggerating here now but it's true! The amount of millipedes outside my current house is so... I shall let the photograph do the talking.

And this is just one corner alright. I haven't show you the other corner and those on the ground which have gone flat as we accidentally stepped on them, especially at night when there is no light. Freaky!

Finished my assignment!

So, during the mid semester break, I did not get to enjoy much as I've had 2 major assignment to rush on. One is about performance and technology - a 1200 words, 35% worth of assignment; and another is about communication and organization - a 3000 words, also 35% worth of assignment.

Knowing that I cannot rush both assignments on the same week, I spent some time of my first week to finish off my performance assignment and spend the remaining days for my communication work.

Who knows, after finishing my performance assignment, I found out that I've done it wrongly. Or to be exact, out of topic. The requirement asked for performance and technology but I gave them 'light, space and sound'. That time I don't have time to redo it so I thought of handing it up straight hoping that I'll pass.

On the due date, the whole class was told to be given an extension, and some of them still haven't finish their work. I find it quite unfair, but at the same time, relieve as I get to redo my work.

Hoping that I can score better this time, I asked my lecturer if I can ask him some question after the class but he told me that he will be teaching the next class and if I have any question I may e-mail him. So I did e-mail him that night itself and he should have more than enough time to reply me. But he didn't.

I managed to borrow some books knowing that he might not reply, keep checking my e-mail from time-to-time, hoping that miracles happen but until today, after finishing my assignment and handed it in, he still hasn't reply me. So what's the point sending him an 'unattended' e-mail?

His other students ask him question he will reply. But when I ask him to check my previous assignment to give some feedback and also some questions about my assignment, he did not bother to reply.

I think he has some racist issue. Even though I tried to be nice to him, he seems unfriendly. Haih~ He is a Dr. some more! So concern about title but not his (Asian) students.

The typical me

“心胸放宽一点,不要那么小心眼;人要大方一点,别太过斤斤计较;思想开放一点,不要拒绝新事物”

The Chinese sentence above is saying “not to be so calculative and narrow-minded, but be more generous and forgiving”. Indeed, sometimes I just feel like I’m such a calculative person, counting every bits of whatever I have. I know it is a good habit to save but overdoing it shows that you are very stingy, or worst – cheap.

And I don’t want to be known as a cheap person, I just don’t like that. Guess I should learn how to be more generous.

Another thing about me is being a narrow-minded person. And this personality trait seems so contradicting with what I am studying at the moment. Imagine telling people that I’m a communication student who is also an anti social person. See, how ironic is it? Not only being anti social, there are a lot more things that I’m not open to… yet.

Gah, I just don’t know what I want. I just need to start changing, but it’s always not easy to take the first step, and consistently keeping up. So typical me! Hahaha!

Take care there peeps!

p.s. I love my new layout for some reason. Like seriously!

My 50mm f/1.8 lens has arrived!

My friends have been asking me why is my blog always look so dark, dull and emo. The previous two layouts are mostly in black (sorry no picture), compared with the blog layout way before, a totally pink blog, sort of have a huge differences. So I decided to change my blog's layout again, to a more simpler version. Shouldn't be too emo now right?

Anyway, a little update about my life. On Wednesday, I received a card from the post office telling me that I have a parcel awaiting for me. I knew the parcel mom sent me is finally here but too bad the post office has already closed when I discovered the notice. So I decided to go today, after my class and production meeting.

And here it is! My parcel, I was too excited to open it and had forgotten to take a photograph of it beforehand. Anyhow, I have a shot of the stuffs my mom sent me. The most important thing I was looking forward to get from here was my 50mm f/1.8 lens! And the remote control for my camera. I was so happy to see these two item to arrive safely. First thing I did was to check if it's working, to make sure it's not spoiled.

As you can see, my mom did send along Redoxon (a kind of Vitamin drink), an mouse and two bottles of eye drops. Thanks for fulfilling my wish mom!

Wanted to show more picture of the camera lens I got actually, but for some reason, 10 out of 18 photographs I took gone corrupted. So I just have to stick with one.

Anyways, hope you guys have a great day ahead as I should not be wasting more time on my blog already! Take care!
